A Quick Overview
Olio E Osso reached out looking to build a new website for their main storefront on Shopify. They had been selling on Shopify for a number of years, but their old site didn't reflect the bright, new personality of their company after a recent branding update. The design concept for the site was being handled by their long-time graphic designer, so I was responsible for helping translate those designs to a format that would work well within Shopify and developing the core Shopify theme.

Design Phase
2021
During the design phase, I worked as a consultant for the Olio E Osso team reviewing the designs from a UX and Shopify development perspective. Throughout this phase I assisted in streamlining the design components, helping to hone in building blocks like colors and fonts, and auditing the information architecture to make the site easier for users to navigate.
Development
2021-2022
This project's development phase was unique since Olio E Osso already had entire Shopify storefront actively selling. Because of this I built the new site in a separate Shopify development environment and synced all product changes and theme updates over at the end of the build. This required advanced coordination and planning with their team. We launched smoothly and without incident with their brand new site in early spring 2022.
It was very important to the OEO team was that their site stand out from other websites selling similar products on the market. Because of this they wanted a lot of unique design features and elements integrated into their new website.
Some key features include:
User built product bundles or "sets"
Unique backend interface that allows for colors and fonts to be adapted easily
Custom page templates for products, collections, and pages
Mega menu navigation to display all products and styles easily
Blocks that can be customized for each separate product page
